Two Baptisms with Admittance to Holy Communion
During the Sung Eucharist on Sunday 11 August, two of our young people, Edmund and Aimee Fleet, were Baptised and Admitted to Communion. They were well supported by many members of their family who also shared with them in the reading of the lesson and the intercessions. The photograph shows Edmund and Aimee waiting to receive their Baptismal candles at the end of the service.

Interment of John Yates' Ashes
Following the Sung Eucharist on Sunday 11 August, a short service was held in the churchyard, led by the Revd Michael Banyard, during which the Ashes of John Yates were interred close to where his beloved wife, Helen, already rests. John was a much loved and respected former Chapel Warden of St Peter's and a Trustee of the church at the time of his death in January 2019. The ceremony was attended by many members of John's family and his friends from the congregation.

21 years of singing!
On Sunday 28 July, St Peter's Singer's said thank you and farewell to Canon Chris Barber who has been the choir's "impresario" for 21 years. Chris founded St Peter's Singers in 1998 when first joining the church's retired clergy team and his enthusiasm and determination have ensured its musical input to the Eucharist on the fourth Sunday of each month and at additional services throughout each year.

Licensing of the Revd Canon Dr Paul Andrews as Priest-in-Charge of St Peter-in-Ely
On Wednesday 5 June, St Peter's welcomed Fr Paul Andrews as its new Priest-in-Charge. The service was attended by representatives of the City of Ely, local priests and ecumenical partners, our retired clergy team and friends and family of Fr Paul including guests from his former Parish of St Neots.
